NRV Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Brings Dental Surgical Robotics to Virginia: Advanced Care for Dental Implant Patients
NRV Oral Maxillofacial Surgery is proud to introduce the newest member of their surgical team, Yomi!
Yomi is a state-of-the-art surgical robot that assists with dental surgery. By using a 3D image of the patient, Yomi helps the dental surgeon plan and guide the entire surgery. With this precise imaging, the doctor is then able to achieve exact dental implant placement. This preciseness leads to efficient treatment and predictable restorations.
Yomi is not only a tremendous aid to the surgeons, it also benefits the patients. Benefits include: same-day guided surgery and a minimally invasive (flapless) approach. This leads to faster treatment and less pain for the patient.
Partnering with Miami-based Neocis, Inc. to advance the field of dental surgical robotics, NRV OMS is very proud to be among the first dental surgeons in the country to offer robot-assisted dental surgery.
As part of an exclusive Pioneer dental robotics surgeon group, the surgeons and surgical team at NRV OMS are extensively trained in the specifics of robotic-assisted surgery. What is considered standard care in many other surgical procedures, is now available for dental implant surgery!
On June 21st NRV OMS hosted an open house at their Blacksburg office to showcase Yomi to their colleagues and community. There were demonstrations of robot-assisted dental surgery, and attendees had the opportunity to “test drive” the robot and place an implant in a simulated jaw.
Having a state-of-the-art implant care close to home was a goal of NRV OMS and now they have achieved it!
